Having a church baptistery adds beauty and functionality to your sanctuary. It provides a place to perform baptisms and enables the church to control the environment.

There are a number of different types of baptistries at the American Steeples. They range from double-entry to single-entry, and are suited to different sizes of churches. Single-entry baptistries are typically smaller, and are best suited for smaller sanctuaries. Double-entry baptistries are often larger, and are suited to larger churches.

Some churches have their baptistery built into the main structure of the church. This allows the congregation to easily access the area for baptisms. However, this may not be an option if the congregation is located in a rural area. Other churches may have their baptistery built into a separate building, which is a less common option.

Baptists in the early twentieth century began to construct indoor baptistries. These baptisteries, which usually were in the forecourt of the church, were often large and beautifully decorated. They were usually adorned with mosaics and carvings of Biblical scenes. The baptistery was also heated using electric heaters.

Baptists in the American South promoted indoor baptistries as a symbol of the Christian civilization and the architectural integrity of the church. They also worked to control and regulate the primitive differences between whites and blacks. They constructed a series of churches in which baptistries were segregated by race, and in which white Baptists were separated from black Baptists by the separation of church space. This separation was a key component of the contextual construction of racial difference. See page below for more information on where to purchase church crosses.

A baptistery is often decorated with pictures of the life of Christ. This includes pictures of Jesus standing in water. The oldest archeological evidence of Christian baptism is from Roman baptistries. The Roman Ritual requires a gate to be fastened with a lock.

Church baptistries can also be used as pulpits. Some of these pulpits can double as communion tables, and some are even mobile for outdoor services. There are also many churches that use baptism pools to baptize new members.

Baptists also framed baptistries with stained glass and elaborate architectural displays. This was a way for Baptists to modernize their congregations. The church leader would speak a short sermon about the gift of salvation. The baptistry door was often sealed with the bishop's seal.

White Baptists in urban areas often had more time and resources to build baptistries. These baptistries were often the only buildings within a church and were often large and beautifully decorated. They were also often the first buildings to have indoor baptistries. In the twentieth century, these churches became the standard for new city Baptist churches.

Baptistries often come with murals that depict the River Jordan. They are also often located on the back wall of the small room that houses the baptistry. These murals are often different from one angle to the next.

Baptists in the American South often had limited resources, and needed to construct baptistries that would modernize their congregations. They also had to make sure that their churches could accommodate their congregations' needs. The Baptists promoted indoor baptistries as enabling their churches to be modern, but theologically retained primitive baptism.
